My teacher (I must give him a fake name to keep him annonymous), Mr. Juarves, is always telling the class many wild stories that happen at his home. One time he decided to take a puppy home and keep him. His wife, being a person more governed by intellectual decisions, told him that they could not keep the puppy because they already had a baby, three cats, and a bearded dragon. Mr. Juarves exclaimed, "But look how cute he is! Please, please can we keep him?!" Mrs. Juarves said no of course and went into a story about one time when Mr. Juarves' pinky was bitten off by a dog. The pinky was sewn back on but it was crooked from that day on. During the time that this discussion took place, Mrs. Juarves was making very logical, intellectual decisions, while Mr. Juarves was making emotionally based decisions.

The positive side of making intellectual decisions is having everything thought out. The intellectual decision is most likely going to be the smart decision. If Mrs. Juarves would have allowed Mr. Juarves to keep the dog, they could have unsuffiecient money to support he family or maybe even another hurt pinky! There are bad aspects to making intellectual decisions, too. What if they were not able to afford the dog and the dog ended up on the streets or in the hands of a bad owner. This is a very interesting topic and i believe the debate could go either way.
